What Southern MO Towns Allow Livestock?
Let's talk livestock within city limits!
With many moving to southern MO to start a homestead, we have met quite a few individuals that decide to land in one of our small towns until they locate their desired homestead. Here's the scoop on what towns allow which animals.
Chickens
While most of our surrounding towns including Fordland, Hartville, Mansfield, Marshfield, Mountain Grove, Mountain View, Norwood, Seymour, Willow Springs, and Winona allow chickens, the majority don't allow Roosters

Goats, Sheep, Horses

Pigs

In summary, each town has slightly varying regulations from animal types and quantities and may require an application. The animals must be contained and within certain specified distances of your neighbor's residence. With noise ordinances in place in most of these communities, it can be up to your neighbor on whether or not your animals can stay or go. If your neighbor enjoys the sounds and smells of your mini farm, the chances are that you will be ok! So make sure you're supplying them with a fair share of eggs to keep them happy!
